Wild and Free

I have really been into the bohemian style recently. Maybe it’s because Coachella is going on, but I’ve hopped on the band wagon with the whole 70’s trend. I’m not a big print person, but I fell in love with this vintage cross pattern. The warm colors create a softer look and give it a more romantic feel. There’s something about Spring that makes me want to wear light and flowy pieces. But I do like to pair them with tougher accessories to give it some edge. This bag I got from H&M is one of those pieces. I can’t resist fringe so I knew I had to have it when it first caught my eye. It has been one of my best purchases, and it is surprisingly versatile.

To join in the spirit of Coachella, I’ve been listening to Florence and the Machine non-stop.Words can’t describe how much I want to see her in person and I’m sad I have to miss out. Instead her latest single St. Jude has been playing on repeat from my tiny dorm room. For those of you also wishing you were there, I’d love to hear what’s on your festival playlist?

Railways

I am always on the lookout for new locations. So it was much to my delight that I found myself taking photos at this abandoned railroad. It was something I had seen last year, but never really considered. But while I was out scouting some of our nature trails I came upon this spot. The entrance to this railroad is surrounded by trees and is quite a ways up from the ground, but after seeing it I knew I had to shoot here. Though the sun wasn’t on our side today, my friend managed to snap some really great shots for me to post. It’s this type of scenic locations that really make me appreciate this town. Though I will forever be a city girl, I do love the imagery that the countryside provides. Menomonie is filled with so many beautiful historic locations, I’m excited to branch out more and explore new places.

In Between Dreams

I don’t think I’ve owned a pair of overalls since I was six years old. I used to hate denim at the time, always refusing to wear my jean jacket. But now I wouldn’t know what to do without in my wardrobe. I really like the vintage look of these, and am glad I made the purchase. I was really nervous while buying, just because I wasn’t sure how they would fit. But I’ve come to really love them and the 80’s vibe they give. I think they’d be adorable with a striped and some funky jewelry.
