Just a little something from last weekend…
I have really been into the bohemian style recently. Maybe it’s because Coachella is going on, but I’ve hopped on the band wagon with the whole 70’s trend. I’m not a big print person, but I fell in love with this vintage cross pattern. The warm colors create a softer look and give it a more romantic feel. There’s something about Spring that makes me want to wear light and flowy pieces. But I do like to pair them with tougher accessories to give it some edge. This bag I got from H&M is one of those pieces. I can’t resist fringe so I knew I had to have it when it first caught my eye. It has been one of my best purchases, and it is surprisingly versatile.
To join in the spirit of Coachella, I’ve been listening to Florence and the Machine non-stop.Words can’t describe how much I want to see her in person and I’m sad I have to miss out. Instead her latest single St. Jude has been playing on repeat from my tiny dorm room. For those of you also wishing you were there, I’d love to hear what’s on your festival playlist?
This time of the of year in Wisconsin always amazes me. Just last week we got a couple of snowy days. Now today, we reached a high of 60 degrees. The warm weather has got me pumped for Spring. As of late, I’ve been trying to get myself back into the habit of exercising. Without a gym, I had spent the past few months curled up on the couch watching way to much reality tv. The rising temperatures have gotten me in the mood to start changing some of my habits and making better habits. Nothing to extreme. Just taking some small steps towards a better lifestyle. Starting off with a few simple things, such as adding more fruits & veggies to my diet and taking the initiative to go outside for walks.

I made it through my first week of classes, and now it’s on to the next. With only one class to go to in person, my schedule is much more open. Besides investing a large amount of time into my online classes, I hope to be more active. Not just exercising, but involving myself in more things. This means leaving the comforts of my dorm room and stepping out into the world.
We already had our first meeting of the year for Her Campus. I am beyond stoked to mention that I will not be in charge of writing for the style section of the Stout charter. Words can’t even describe how grateful I am. I look at this as practice for the future, a great learning opportunity to help better my writing skills.

The bangs are officially back and were greatly missed. They’ve become my signature look over the past few years, I felt a little naked without them. You may have also noticed my hair is much darker; a warm shade of chocolate. This was the color I was trying to achieve the last time I dyed it, but the bleach blonde was pretty hard to dye on top of. It’s been a long time since I’ve done a color so dark. I’ve found myself to be loving the color and think it brings out some of the blue in my gray eyes.
The new style was at the perfect timing. With only a few days before I make my way back to school, it’s a great time to embrace a new look. I’m not looking forward to small town life again, but I’m pretty pumped to get back to my classes. With a lot of online courses this semester, I’ll have plenty more time to blog.
